DISCLAMER: Rooting the device will void the phone warranty, by following these steps you accepting it.

NOTE: Before to proceed be aware of the fact that root is not needed if you just would like to SIM unlock the phone as our app now works even on stock rom.

1.) Power off phone completely.
2.) Hold Home and Volume-(down), keep them pressed and power the phone on.
3.) Press Volume+(up) when prompted to enter "Downloading Mode"
4.) Connect USB and wait for all drivers to finish installing.
5.) Select N900PVPUEOH1.idoneapps.com.tar.md5 or N900PVPUEOK2.idoneapps.com.tar.md5 or N900PVPUEPH1.idoneapps.com.tar.md5 or N900PVPSEPL1.idoneapps.com.tar.md5 in Odin3 "AP/PDA" slot (select the version you want to flash), then pust START on Odin3, the file will be flashed.
5b.) or Flash SM-N900P_modem_FIX.tar.md5 in Odin3 "AP/PDA" slot if you are already on one of the 3 above software versions but have installed it from from somewhere other than here (this one is not a full rom so download size is smaller if you don't need the full Software Update).
6.) After reboot repeat steps 1-3 to enter "Downloading Mode" and Flash cfautoroot in Odin3 "AP/PDA" slot.
7.) Proceed to unlocking  Click for Instructions
8.) Be sure to do GCF Setting for Note3 Click for Instructions

So far it just keeps saying  invalid sim after all the steps. I did flash your OH1 ROM.and went through the steps. Unsure why now it say invalid sim. You unlocker I noticed reboots 3 times at times too. Think you can assist me in getting this going?

Nevermind....  I checked the service menu and the Sim was still locked.  I ran the unlocker several times. Note: after the 2nd reboot and then the manual 3rd reboot a process start (I think it was systemui) FCd.  I kept hitting wait till the notification bar showed then rebooted again.  Once that was done I had to use the Galaxy Tools to check on the unlock and hitting the button for version 3.1.8 did it.  HSDPA started to show once I added the APN.

Also for Straight Talk and probably a few others.  If anyone runs into MMS issue where Pics come in a separate texting group with your own number and the number it came from.  Just use a 3rd party texting app instead.  Handscent or something that has settings inside it to add APNs.  thank you man.

Good to hear!

Yes it does seem there is a timing issue we will address in the next update here. It only seems to affect a couple of the older phones. (S4 & Note3) I do test on a Note3 here but depending on if there are many apps installed it can slow the process down.

And good tip for the MMS/Picture messaging. The problem is actually a hard coded setting in the MMS app itself, due to legal reasons(US) I believe I cannot post patched mms.apk's, I will look into it to be sure, and if not I will show how/where to patch them and maybe someone else can post patched ones ;)

Do we have to remain on mk2 modem after unlock or can we flash up to OC5 and retain unlock?

Fihn,

Note 3 requires the modem to be MJ4 or less in order for the unlock to work.
You can upgrade the rom but if you do it you hae to flash the MJ4 modem over the upgraded rom. It's fast and easy by the way ;)
See you ;-)

Ok so it has to stay mk4 or less. Can't unlock the mk4 then upgrade the modem to oc5? Been having trouble with the area I'm in now and wanted to flash newer modem to see if it cleared up my connectivity issues.

I have been waiting about 30min thus far. Thanks!!!

tatgrrl29, that's a static message, means that the phone is in download mode, it is NOT downloading something from internet, it is waiting for you to connect the usb cable and push START on Odin.
So go ahead ;)
See you ;-)

Thanks for the easy tutorial! I got it unlocked and am able to use it on T-Mobile just fine! Those 3G and H+ icons are just beautiful to my eyes. If only the Note 3 had the right bands like the S4 does... Anyway, I wanted to ask, when the phone is unlocked, can I freely switch between CDMA/LTE mode for Sprint and GSM/UMTS for T-Mobile? Or, do I have to redo the GCF settings each time I want to go back to T-Mobile? Thanks for everything!

Hi blockofdynamite,

if a phone requires GCF Settings then yes, you have to set and unset GCF when you switch Network Settings.
Since your phone requires it then yes, you have to.
See you ;-)

Is it safe to downgrade from N900PVPUEPH1 to this version?

Yes Furritos, downgrade is safe, by the way you don't need to do that, you should use the idoneapps Custom PH1 link at the end of the first post.
See you ;-)
