I had to merge help suggestions from a few different sources but it all came together eventually
Samsung eventually told me to use Kies but this took the lock up to a new (near fatal) lock up screen
and that was after they admitted that this Tab was set to fail in that it was programmed NOT to let you let you revive it.

When I questioned them on it they stopped responding saying you'll have to send it to our engineers to fix:(
Anyways, all good now
