DISCLAMER: Rooting the device will void the phone warranty, by following these steps you accepting it.

NOTE: Before to proceed be aware of the fact that root is not needed if you just would like to SIM unlock the phone as our app now works even on stock rom.

1.) Go to Settings > About device > scroll to bottom and tap "Build number" 8 times, now press back button once and tap developer options.
2.) Enable USB debugging and OEM unlock from developer options.
3.) Connect the phone to the PC and copy BeastMode-Stock-N920P-1.2.zip in your Note5 sdcard root: Computer\Galaxy Note5\Phone
4.) Copy SuperSU-BETA v2.49.zip in your Note5 sdcard root: Computer\Galaxy Note5\Phone
5.) Power off phone completely.
6.) Hold Home and Volume-(down), keep them pressed and power the phone on.
7.) Press Volume+(up) when prompted to enter "Downloading Mode"
8.) Connect USB and wait for all drivers to finish installing.
9.) Open Odin3 (Run as administrator), then select TWRP-2.8.7.1-Alpha_N920P.tar.md5 in "AP" slot, then pust START on Odin3, the file will be flashed.
10.) Power off phone completely.
11.) Hold Home and Volume+(up), keep them pressed and power the phone on, phone will turn on and load recovery menu. (*1)
12.) Tap Install then select BeastMode-Stock-N920P-1.2.zip
13.) Tap Add More Zips then select SuperSU-BETA v2.49.zip
14.) Swipe to confirm Flash, phone is now rooted.
15.) Proceed to unlocking  Click for Instructions

Note (*1):
On some phones Android replace the recovery image with the stock one during the reboot, so if you have to launch it as soon as the flash ends:
a.)Flash TWRP with Odin, keep your hands on the phone during the flashing procedure.
b.)As soon the flash complete you will see the phone rebooting (so you'll see a black screen), suddenly push and hold Home, Volume+(up) and power button, phone will load TWRP.

Am I able to do this through my phone by downloading everything including Odin to my phone or do I need a computer , desktop style ?  If so , can it be an apple?

Hi bear,

you have to use a computer to flash your phone, there is also a MAC version of Odin3, this is a link with needed files and explanations for MAC:

Okay I did all the steps and it keeps saying mobile network not available.

Edit: Blacklisted on t-mobile sh*t. No way around this I'm guessing. I wonder if AT&T will work with it? It says unknown when I look up the ESN.

Yes, if it is blacklisted it may work on AT&T network if you're lucky!
It already happened to someone, just try.

there is a little scroll bar at the right, go down and you'll see the zip file if you copied it in the internal sdcard before to go in recovery.

The bright one on the right, I indicate it with my finger.
Mine is the newer TWRP 3.0, in the older one that bar is very tiny and few noticeable so pay attention to find it!
Else you can install 3.0, the link is inside the tutorial for Note5 on Marshmallow:

Can you please go in recovery, tap on INSTALL then take a picture and attach it here like I did? (to upload it use http://postimage.org )
