DISCLAMER: Rooting the device will void the phone warranty, by following these steps you accepting it.
NOTE: Before to proceed be aware of the fact that root is not needed if you just would like to SIM unlock the phone as our app now works even on stock rom.
1.) Go to Settings > About device > scroll to bottom and tap "Build number" 8 times, now press back button once and tap developer options.
2.) Enable USB debugging and OEM unlock from developer options (if available as option, else skip this step).
3.) Connect the phone to the PC and copy BETA-SuperSU-v2.68-20160228150503.zip in your Note5 sdcard root: Computer\Galaxy Note5\Phone
4.) Power off phone completely.
5.) Hold Home and Volume-(down), keep them pressed and power the phone on.
6.) Press Volume+(up) when prompted to enter "Downloading Mode"
7.) Connect USB and wait for all drivers to finish installing.
8.) Open Odin3 (Run as administrator), then select twrp-3.1.0-0-nobleltespr.img.tar.md5 in "AP" slot, then pust START on Odin3, the file will be flashed.
9.) Power off phone completely.
10.) Hold Home and Volume+(up), keep them pressed and power the phone on, phone will turn on and load recovery menu. (*1)
11.) Once in TWRP recovery, swipe right to allow modifications.
12.) Tap Install then select BETA-SuperSU-v2.68-20160228150503.zip
13.) Swipe to confirm Flash, phone is now rooted.
14.) Proceed to unlocking Click for Instructions (https://idoneapps.com/instructions.php#unlock_single)
On some phones Android replace the recovery image with the stock one during the reboot, so follow these steps in such case:
a.)Open Odin and click on Options tab, then deselect Auto Reboot.
b.)Flash TWRP with Odin, the phone won't automatically reboot because you had untick the above flag, so when the percentage reach 100 on phone turn it off by pressing down POWER button and VOLUME DOWN button for 5 seconds.
c.)From phone powered off, push and hold Home, Volume+(up) and power button, phone will load TWRP.

Yes, it will!
Will this work on a 920p pd2
Yes it will, I just changed the title in "PC3 and above" to avoid confusion. 8)
Hi will this work on pg1 ? i tried it but i got different recovery tool it looks like the orginal recovery tool
Yes it does, just make sure to read the Note (*1)
Please i need your help,
I just root my note 5 using your method above but now my phone keep restarting by itself.even after i have factory reset and reinstalled the custom rom, which i download from sammobile.
You probably started from a bad custom rom, do not use that, download one of the stock rom from here, PD2 doesn't requires root to be unlocked, while if you chose PG1 or PH9 after flashing them use the root instructions we posted here.
Stock Official PD2 (6.0.1) Click to Download (https://mega.nz/#!lRwBSapB!AHVrf-uyF6myVMLsxEVtqfeLJ6wEkS_y4Qp8sOYysoc)
Roms below this warning needs root to be unlocked:

Stock Official PH9 (6.0.1) Click to Download (https://mega.nz/#!v0UjUQhD!jlsG6DxAEh4cKxM0FRpeAPVDGKmztOU3cQeTTyoTSP4)
To flash the stock rom follow these instructions:
alright,will do that now..
Will keep you posted on my progress.
I just install the custom Rom from your link above "PH9" and yet the phone still restarts and reboot after about 45seconds to 1minute.
Please help me,cant use my phone again.
The phone was on PH9 when i try to root it using your rooting method above.
We haven't custom roms fr Note 5 here, what one you refer?
Also, when following the root instructions remember to use the files we provide here (Odin, TWRP and SuperSU), do not use other versions from other sites because we tested the procedure with these versions (you can find them at the Pre-requisites links at the bottom of the root post).
Also, in order to check your problem, since my Note 5 was on PG1 I just updated it to PH9 and rooted it with our instructions/files, it works fine here, it does not reboots, so it's indeed something you're doing differently like using roms/files from other sources. This is a screenshot from mine, as you can see it has PH9 and it is rooted with SuperSU 2.68:
If you still have problems flash this PH9 stock rom:
Then wipe the phone from the Settings menu.
The root it using the first post instructions and files.
